Hi i have just taken my bravo for a MOT today and it failed on the fog lights.
Everytime you put the head lights on the fog lights stay on all the time does anybody no a fix to this ?
I'm thinking the switch but not sure

Take the real light cluster off and with the bulbs removed check for voltages - chances are there is a poor earth causing both bulbs to light up.

if the bad earth is the case what is the best way to solve the problem?
As i think you are correct in the voltage been at both lights.

Glass paper and clean up all the connections.

You see this a lot on other cars where the indicators and brakes get combined, meaning the brakes start flashing with the indicators... looks like a christmas tree from behind.

If you are talking about the front fog lights just disconnect them, they are not required for an mot. Then you can sort out the problem at your leisure.

I'm guessing the rears.

Just got out the manual and had a look at the rear fog lamp circuit, I would say the fog light switch is almost certainly the problem especially if all the other lighting circuits are ok.
Power comes into the fog lamp switch on a green/blue wire from the headlamp switch, that feed is obviously ok because the fog lights are on with the headlamps. What is happening is that the fog lamp switch is not interrupting the power when it is in the off position.
