Hej! I’m new here! I just want to ask about fiat car problem. I have a fiat bravo 2000, when i try to start the car it started very okay but then the speed starts self without hitting the speed. The speed go up to 3000 varv, i don’t know what is the english of ”varv” it’s a swedish term.😅

Does anyone have the same problem?

The injection warning light was on so my husband tried to change sparks because one spark was not in use. Then after that, the injection warning lights turned off but the rpm goes up to 3000 while idle or in neutral.

Years ago I had a Fiat Tempra with a 1600 petrol fuel injected engine. It was single point injection with a throttle body.
It used to rev itself with no accelerator pedal use. A bit like a boy racer at the traffic lights! It was drive-able at most other positions of the accelator pedal.
Eventually I found it was a faulty throttle position sensor on the throttle body. This car had a separate Bosch position sensor unit. Rather than pay the silly price from Fiat, I got a Bosch diesel fuel injection specialist to order it for me with the part number from the unit.

My husband removed the entire throttle position sensor and it reacts immediately. It doesn't accelerate and when he let off the gas it dies. So i think that is the fault.🤔

My husband order the part, so I hope it is right.😊

It was many years ago that I had this car and it's fault so I can't remember exactly what it looked like. If yours revs up and down on it's own then it sounds like a similar problem.
Mine took longer to fix because I first replaced it with a similar age second hand part. This had the same problem. Eventually after swapping several other parts I ordered a new throttle position sensor and that fixed it,
I hope your new part fixes the problem.

Hi, I think your Stepper Motor is faulty. Last time, my Marea idling went to 3000rpm. So I took it and tried to clean it. Looks ok and tried running for a week. But it goes back to 3000rpm. So I decided to buy a new one and exchange it. Luckily my Marea is back to normal.

The engine is manual.
You need to be clear which model / version of engine you have... if it is year 2000 and petrol it should be either the 1.2 16v 80PS or the 16. 16V 105PS... there are very different systems for the engine management / fuel injection / spark ignition. It is true that on older simpler Fiat models (Tipo / Tempra) had problems with the idle control valve giving erratic idling / revving but your car is different and more advanced. The engine management system can make the car rev if it is confused by bad sensors or wiring (like lambda / oxygen sensor in the exhaust) but it will record any faults in its memory and a garage or auto electrician can read these messages (and clear them) using the ODB2 port in the car (usually under the dashboard). If the engine fault light came on then there should be codes you can read to help with diagnosis.
