Technical Fiat 500l mpw airbag lights and fuel cut off unavailable

Hi, I have recently purchased a 2013 MPW with known airbag lights on.the seller told me they had appeared after replacing the battery.
At present it has the red and amber lights on the dash and fuel cut off unavailable. It also had the flashing mileage but I have managed to turn that off with MES. I cannot connect to the airbag module though.
Does this mean the airbag module is faulty? Will the airbags still work in a crash if this is not repaired?
Any thoughts appreciated

The AirBag ECU can be blown by poor jump starting. The spike kills it.

But you have multiple problems which is usually an Earthing fault.

Does it not list the airbags as you 'scan for devices'?
