Hi All

I have a fiat twin air plus 2012 and it eat anti freeze ive no idea where its going but its a weekly top up i even replaced the expansion tank thinking there was a leak but its still doing it. Now from a cold start the car is perfect after half an hour engine fails and management light comes on. Give it half hour and we are good to go again

What on earth is wrong with it, some one said coil pack but im not sure

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

You'd need to get diagnostics (Like MES https://www.fiatforum.com/directory/categories/multiecuscan-register.4/ ) on the car to point you in the right direction..
Just guessing it's a coil pack for instance can quickly empty your wallet and still have a faulty car.

The MES diagnostics will see into your car's system with the help of that and a laptop https://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESPKG.html

Can't help you on the coolant loss - could be a hose clamp or a radiator or even water pump, but does it still lose it even when the car is parked ?

Hi Nichola, and welcome to FF, 🙂

Have you owned this car long, 🤔

When did these issues creep in?

I see you've put "London" as location

If it spends Lots of time in traffic maybe the cooling fan isn't the best, and a 13 year old radiator is now getting flaky.. 🤔

Good shout on the expansion tank, they had early production issues

My 2013 panda has held its coolant, but throws an engine warning in warm weather and runs poorly, switching on and off, even when rolling rests it

Think it electrical.. But why only HOT..?

It's done this from 10k to 40k, and over 6 years

I've not figured it out.. BUT do have engine faults recorded

If you are in Southeast London area.. there is a local member who may offer useful help on the Fault Codes of your Panda

Hi
Ive had the car a year it was on 62k now 69k just driving round town its fine then i drive to lakeside and it packed up seized 3 -4 times just to get it home
its probably not worth much so not sure if its a viable options to even try to repair :(

any warnings on the dash board
When you say packed up what do you mean?
Is it overheating.
Is it manual or automatic

Its a manual engine just shudders and dies when cooled its starts again until its been running then dies again fine from a cold start

You just need to start methodically diagnosing and repairing each problem.

Concentrate on one problem at a time , once it's fixed it's no longer a big list of problems , I'd go with the coolant leak first

For that there are several ways of finding where the coolant is going , for instance use a dye and inspect , or a pressure system attached to the expansion reservoir and inspect for leaks..

For the engine , it's again methodical checking out various aspects of it.... earth strap is worth looking at , compression checks, ignition etc

When was it last serviced?, and what level of service.

Not engine stalling no this is recent
The coolant yes since I bought it

Ok, so coolant isn't the priority for today.. But it is next week!

You want to get the Engine error codes read ( from your warning light.. There WILL be some)

I believe @typecast boy could be within 40 mins of you.. 🤔

I suspect your radiator is damaged leaking.. Often just through age.. I've had that over the years 😔

Ask him to have a quick check.. He has repaired crashed 500's so should spot damage pretty easily. 😊

Out of interest.. Who did your oil change? 🤔
