Hi Everybody! 😊

I posted a week or so ago because out of the blue, my Fiat 500 2018 Twin Air wouldn’t start. Had battery checked - good ✅. But test showed alternator only ‘generating’ 5 volts (sorry not techy, just recalling what was said). Needed new alternator - so that’s what got done. Been running fine. Then this morning - same thing. Wouldn’t start. Zero sign of life. Opened bonnet (I have zero mechanical knowledge) wiggled battery connections to check good - seemed to be. Switched ignition - fine! Engine running. Thought I’d take to Kwik Fit (Saturday morning and was nearby)just to be sure - they said the connection was good. Few hours later popped to Morrisons - when I came back, samd problem. Completely dead. Flipped lid, wiggled battery leads - ignition! Everything fine. So does this sound like there’s something wrong with the actual leads, rather than the connection bit?

Main battery connections, and the main earth str.ap need to be double checked for integrity.

Just remove, clean with wire brush the batttery terminals , and as a precautionary measure just replace the main earth strap (cleaning both ends where it connects, again with a wire brush.

The Black cable that connects to the Battery Negative - it I'd the main Earth and bolts to the cars frame /chassis abmnd then the Engine

They can fall apart inside 😔

The Black plastic tube it's in holds it together, but cannot pass Electricity reliably

It's Not an expensive component to replace🙂
