Because 110 editions are not enough: there will be one more edition of special editions of the Fiat/Abarth 500.
With the arrival of the 500e, Fiat finally dared: the Fiat 500 (312) produced from 2007 to 2024 has been withdrawn from production.
That car had been among us for an eternity, and let's face it: it didn't feel that chewed.
The design was still quite strong after a thorough facelift, the Abarth version with its brave almost 200 hp 1.4 T-Jet was still fun and the thing was sold nicely too.
Something that became a bit too much of a good thing: celebrating every fart with a special edition.
There have been, including Abarth versions, about 110 special editions of the outgoing 500.
Abarth 695 Club Italy
This edition is called 'Club Italia' and celebrates, uh, Club Italia. That's a club in Italy (break!) which focuses on maintaining the legacy of the Italian car. According to Stellantis, this fits perfectly with their Heritage department, where they keep and display the best models of the Italian Stellantis brands.
Not only historic series models, but also special prototypes.
The eight copies of the Abarth 695 Club Italia are therefore intended for members of the club as a kind of thank you for maintaining Italy as a prestigious car country.
The eight 695s also fit seamlessly into a series that Stellantis calls 'Reloaded by Creators'.
According to the group, the idea behind it is that the very last models of a particular series become unique.
In this case, the last Fiat 500s with a non-hybrid gasoline engine.
Sure, if you want to celebrate: do it.
More fun for us: what do you get?
A color combination selected by Club Italia for the Abarth 695: a dark green, almost turquoise bottom with a dark blue top, separated by a red accent line.
Including gold rims.
All eight 695s are the dense version, not 695C.
Like several late special editions of the 595 and 695, the exhausts are four small pipes stacked on top of each other on both sides.
Inside you will find half cognac-colored and half black alcantara seats.
The cognac color is also reflected in the door trim of the Abarth 695 Club Italia.
The name and logo of the club is also reflected in small details such as the headrests, on the sides on the outside and even on the button that turns on the sports mode. Admittedly: the whole thing is beautiful, whether or not a bit busy.
But then you have something really special.
As mentioned, it's just watching for us, because the eight copies of the Abarth 695 Club Italia are distributed among members of the club.
And after that it will really be ready, because even these eight pieces have already been scraped out of the caves of the production line. Reportedly.
