General Fiat 500 Pop vs. Colour Therapy

So, I'm wanting to buy my 500 by the end of the year, as a treat to myself. I've wanted one for years, and I'll be taking it out on finance, so I guess I'm a little more flexible with my money. I did my comparing but I guess it'd be better hearing it from real people.

I'm looking for it in Volare Blue, and after sitting in the Colour Therapy I fell in love. However, with an extra £1,000 added on to the price from the Pop, is it really worth it? Like If I had the choice I wouldn't really care, but I'm a student and this is the first time I'll be paying for a car out of my own pocket.

So what do you think I should do, help? Haha

It depends on your budget and how much you want the CT model. If you are not really bothered then save some money and go for the pop.
Personally I really like the CT - especially in the Volate Blue with white alloys.

The CT is "worth it" in as much as a Pop with air con, blue paint and vintage wheel trims is £100 more. It depends on how much you want those items I guess. You like the colour, and I would suggest air con is sensiblentonhave for your own use and resale. In which case I would say yes, the CT makes sense.

Welcome to the forum.

We used to have a 1.2 Pop in white with air conditioning before we traded in for a new shape Panda.

We were never all that fussed about the colour at the time, but we definitely wanted air conditioning so we specced that as an option. It was just what we wanted to be honest.

If you only want to have the Volare Blue colour (and don't care about air con, vintage steel trims and white gearknob/aerial), then you may as well just order a Pop with the colour. It'll be marginally cheaper insurance wise too (slightly lower insurance group).

However, the 1.2 Colour Therapy models are only £800 more than the 1.2 Pop with no fitted extras. I'd certainly recommend having air conditioning as it is not only good for keeping cool in the summer, but it also helps you stop the windows steaming up in the winter too.

Overall though, if I had to choose I'd recommend getting one of the Colour Therapy models. They do offer you some financial benefit in the sense that the extras provided exceed the price difference compared to a Pop. But also it's more likely that it will hold its future value slightly better than just a standard Pop as it has more desirable features.

Now that discounts can be had on the 500, it's not as simple as looking at list prices, since the level of discount you can realistically negotiate is not the same across the model range.

For example, a quick two minute search on one well-known website shows the 1.2 lounge can be had for just £100 more than the CT. IMO the lounge is well worth £100 more than the CT, both for practicality and for resale.

What are the monthly payments on Finance for a Pop v CT v Lounge ?
If one was a student I would inclined to go with the cheapest but if a Lounge was only slightly more it would be tempting.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I think I'll stick to the colour therapy, I sat in a Lounge and it's nice, I guess a test drive could change my mind, but I'm happy sticking with a CT I think.

I bought a Colour Therapy in December as I decided to downgrade to save some cash.

I went for Tech House Grey as I thought with the white touches it looks brilliant and very retro. I got a cracking deal too due to a cock-up with advertising in my local dealer which meant I got it for it for less than a Pop.
