General Fiat 500 2019 number plate bulbs not working

Yes, mine had a foam layer concealing the openings and I think you'd have to cut through that to access the components. When I got that far I decided that, as the car was still under warranty, FIAT could fix the faulty switch. They replaced the whole thing of course. Eighteen months later I had them replace it again as the chrome around the number plate lights was bubbling.

So if anyone needs to dismantle the rear handle as in the video above, note there are two tabs one at each end that are particularly hard to release, I had to bend the black section at the centre and putting back was equally difficult to get the end to clip in( I eventually trimmed off a bit of the tab) couldn't see why my number plate light wasn't working but it is now I suspect the crimp connection at the light holder end.
