Technical Fiat 500 1.2 motor vibrates at a cold start

Hello!

I did not drive a car for 5 days, so it was parked on the street during the cold weather -20 -25 degrees.
I started the engine this morning and there was a strong vibration on the idle speed (the link of the video was added below).
We passed 7-8 km, the vibration remained both at idle speed and during the movement. After a brief parking (30-40 minutes), the engine was started again and everything was fine.



What's the problem?

Sounds very tappety? Have you checked the oil and coolant?

Checked the oil but not the coolant

My mum's 1.2 started doing this after a few years, a bit juddery at idle for a minute or so. The judder will find out and amplify other rattles like the air cleaner intake tube etc.

The local garage had 500s as courtesy cars and they said theirs used to do it too... they went all over them and looked for info etc, in the end they decided it was just a quirk with the cars.

Obviously it's linked to some sensor somewhere that is connected with temperature or fuelling, could even be one of the lambda sensors in the exhaust (these should be preheated during warm-up).

At -20/25 c any engine would complain? perhaps give it a service, oil change and plugs(try Iridium ones rather than standard which last much longer too) check the air filter, agree its a cold start/possibly sensor issue.

Yes.

It is not uncommon for a FIRE engine to do this.

.-25'C... pretty cold...

I would anticipate resistance to rotation of things like drive bets.etc.
