Right - all the really really long query problems are gone, but I can see in the logs, once or twice an hour, we're still getting a few "hangs" (over 5 seconds to respond).

Ive been having long hangs but keep forgetting to note them down, had about 4 or 5 tonight over a minute long each and the ones that i did remember it lied and said 1.4/5 seconds

Haven't been on much today, pages have been loading in a few seconds for the past week, no hangs untill now.

had a couple of hangs myself today. didn't check the bottom of page though - but say 40 seconds before page loaded
been ok for me still, try clearing cache
Good news - I've discovered the slowquery log only writes out when you restart the server.
So, just reset it - got the latest log and I can see 2 queries that are causing most of the issues.
One is the merge prefixes into a forum (although this pops up less than the second)
The second is the post thanks mod (and this one has the 60 second hangs)
I'll mail the developers and see if they have a way to tune it up
(Where the time lies, that's still an outstanding issue)

i spoke too soon, hangs back bad for me today
had 1 or 2 as well but refresh button and it was back straight away for me
I think the server's had too much birthday booze lol.

by the looks of it, it never finished downloading everything and the browser just thought ah feck it and displayed what it had
That's interesting - the stylesheet didn't finish downloading.
However, that is kept on a separate server - totally out of my control :chin:
