Faulty termometer

The termometer on my 80SX is out of order. No signal on the instrument panel. Also, when I turn the ignition on, the odometer screen shows some weird numbers for a couple of seconds and then goes back to the actual mileage and trip.
Does anybody have a clue?

Wow, didn't know they had a termometer in Bravos. What year model is your car???
