Hi all,

Can someone point me in the right direction. My fan in my Cinq sporting 1.1 is not coming on at all, temp reaching close to 120 on the gauge then water starts coming out the Expansion tank. Could it be time for a new Fan just need some answer if someone could help me out please?

Thanks

Lisa

hi
it could the the radiator thermostatic fan switch or it could be the fan itself.test the switch and fan by disconnecting the plug from the switch on the right hand side of the radiator and bridge the connection and see if the fans kicks in(ignition on) if it does its the switch in the rad and if no fan kicks in it could be fan motor has seized up.also check the fuse under the steering column see if that has blown....
cheers andy

Hi Guys

I've checked the the fan via a paper clip turned the ignition on and nothing. The fan did not cut in at all. So I'm assuming its the Fan?

Where can I get a Fan from?

Just to add the fan is not stiff or hard to turn by hand. Moves quite freely.

hi lisa
check the fuse as rallycinq says and the fan motor could of just burnt out.my one got a plastic bag wrapped round it and i never realised and that obviously caused more resistance when it cut in and eventually it just packed up.
try any of the chaps on here or if you have an ebay account grab one off there or try a local breakers yard.
cheers andy
