hi guys. I'm having a bit of a problem with my Brava1.6 1996, the temp gauge it's up around a quarter and the fan kicks in, as far as i know it should only kick in after the indicator passes half.what do you think it might be?

does it reach this temperature in a normal amount of time or does the gauge rise very slowly? (ie, is it possible the gauge is indicating wrong?)

Otherwise probably the fan thermo switch is broken. There's 2 temp sensors on the thermostat housing on the 96 model. One for the gauge, one for the ECU to switch the fan and such. I'm not sure which of the 2 is which though tbh.

Isn't the fan thermo switch on the radiator ??
the tempreture sensors on the termostat do not switch the fan on, the tmpreture of the watter in the radiator does.

Mine certainly doesn't ('97 1.6 brava) as far as I can tell. The earlier models have 2 temp sensors on the thermostat, the later (post '98 facelift) ones only one. The fan is switched by the ECU afaik.
