Re: Alarm failure

The alarm will beep like this if it's lost contact with the header unit. Check the wiring there. It has a mid-way junction on the righthand side of the dash too, had anything done there?

Re: Alarm failure

Rrope, could I ask if you have any ideas what is up with my alarm? If I unlock the boot only, the alarm goes off when I lift the boot past a few centimetres high. If I just release the boot without lifting it, it is OK. If I leave it just off the catch like this, the car says 'Boot open', so it does know its open. Does the alarm have its own release switch in the boot, and not the one that tells the car the boot is open?

Thanks,
Del :)

Re: Alarm failure

I had to fit a new windscreen a couple of weeks ago (loose chippings) but the alarm was defecting previous to that.

The first time I noticed was one night at the wonderful hour of 3 oclock the car wok the entire housing estate. I went out to the car opened it, put the key in the ignition, turned the car on and off, then got out locked it and opened it but the alarm would not stop.

I drove the car out of the site to a neaby industrial estate (probably made every one think someone was stealing it) and waited for about 5 min until it stopped.
Attempted theft did not appear on the alarm panel and ever since then it has been making an extra bleep!

Re: Alarm failure

Sounds like a dody alarm module to me - if the alarm goes off, it should display "Theft Attempted" on the screen. All I can suggest doing is taking off the alarm connector to reset it for 20 mins or so.

Dello, looking into it.

Stilo alarm

When at work I park my car on a main road and for the past 2 days the alarm has gone off and I've had the "theft has been attempted" when getting back into the car.

How sensetive are the Stilo alarms? I set the alarm and rocked the car the other day but it didn't go off and there are no flies etc in the car setting the sensors off.

Re: Stilo alarm

Should have two buttons on header console:

One shuts down the ultrasonics (interior movement & glass break protection)

The other button turns off anti-jack protection which in other words just means vibration detector (stop kids sitting on your bonnet & stuff :D )

Lucky you having a new car ah :p

Re: Stilo alarm

but how do you know if one is turned on or off? it just flashes when you press it?
Same for me but then mine doesn't work at all :( (I tried to fit the factory fit alarm and failed :bang:)

Oh and it's becasue of buses going past as to why it goes off, so I'm asuming thats the anti-jack protection?
I'm sure you're right about that (y)

Re: Stilo alarm

the manual is a big lump of **** as well, it says "press the button to activate/deactivate the anti-jack sensor" :bang:

bit embarassing as where I park is along a main bus route where a bus goes past about every 30 seconds

Re: Stilo alarm

Right a bit of an update:

deactivating the anti-jack sensors does nothing.

deactivating both of them and the alarm doesn't go off!

So rang FIAT up the other day and asked them about changing the sensitivity of the alarm and they said "don't think so" so that was a big help :bang:

Anybody else have any ideas for me? because I don't fancy turning the alarm off everyday I go to work.

Re: Alarm failure

Sorry lads have been away for a week.

I disconnected both plugs in the ultrasonic unit and cleaned them with some switch cleaner now the alarm works the odd time which is better than nothing!

My father is going to check if 12v is passing through these connection plugs.

These are the four pin connector yous were talking about?

How do i reset the alarm? That sounds promising!;)
