Hiya wondering if anyone can tell me what the F50 fuse on the battery provides power to?

Thanks

Andrew

Seems to power the preheating plugs control-box ...

Thanks Bernie.

I’ve got 2 puntos and the 1.3D it’s F50 fuse looked a bit done in. Wouldn’t start great either replaced and sorted. Although took glow plugs out to have a check on their resistance and the first one the one on right as you’re looking at engine from the front the top just snapped off. Tried with my long 8mm bit to turn it and the hex head came off. Can I run it with only 3 or will I need to get that out?

Thanks

Too bad :-( , how did you managed this ? Was engine cold, did you spray some de-seizer the night before ?

However, the good news is that you can start it "on 3 legs", the engine will start a bit shaky, specially in colds, but will soon stabilize as the fourth cylinder (always count them FROM the pulley) will eventually fire-up. You'll propably notice some blue-ish/white smoke due to incomplete gasoil burnt in this cylinder, this will disappear aswell.

There are kits available to extract broken glowplugs, google will tell you ...

BTW, you don't need to remove them for resistance checking...

Hey yea the engine was cold and tbh I didn’t even think about desiezer. They’re only 3 months old. That’s my fault. Ahh I thought you had to remove to check. I’ll have to have a look at google. Thanks for that

If you ever change them again make sure to get the engine hot before attempting to remove them and give them a very good squirt of oil Forster

Then the best technique is to turn a little at a time back and fourth whenever you feel them getting tight make take a bit but they should come out eventually

Never-ever do that on a hot engine !! Metal expands with heat, the plugs will be more tighten in this condition.
COLD engine, penetrating oil the whole night and the RIGHT tool should be enough to get the job done...
