Exhausts - what can I do to make the rear end look nice?

I know this is a frequent question but it's one I usually ignore as I normally have no interest.

Currently, I do whatever I can to hide my exhaust - painted black, etc. I'm kinda thinking of getting something on the back part to hint I do actually have an exhaust.

Got a MK1 1.8, so I was wondering.. can I just buy a backbox.

Any recommendations or hints where to look?

Not after performance, just want summat that looks not like its a standard exhaust (ie. not a boring bit of steel pipe). Have tried the Abarth exhaust trims and they are crap (useless fitment) so would consider anything.

i have the cat and the exhaust sytem sepperate, i would defo sell the cat, still not sure bout the system as i might put it on my JTD if it will fit, going to look at one today
