Exhaust popping

sorry if this is noobie..........but what makes an exhaust pop ? i know with the btcc(my favorite motorsport) that the pop in the exhaust is unburnt fuel that pops in the exhaust

is this the same concept for road cars ? or is it done another way ?

yup its unburnt fuel. you need a decat to do it really though

Run the car rich :devil:
Mine runs a little rich and i sometimes get a little bit of fuel into the exhaust when the engine is hot. This causes it to pop a little when i turn it off and on again.
