First time experience with an Audi. and i really don't know what there meant to sound like...

do me the exhaust sounds odd, but the man told me that there meant to sound like that?

engine has whurring noise which is always constantly changing, don't know what the noise is from?

Exhaust does smoke now and again but was okay in the video, and the water coming out was probably from the garden house as i washed the car couple of hours ago :D

It's just a cooking 16v engine, I think. Shouldn't sound overly different from any other.

The 5 cylinder ones (like the 5 cylinder volvos and FIATs) do sound rather different, but here, I'd suspect a belt or a tensioner. Long screwdriver (blunt end to ear) or engine stethoscope might help isolate the source. Or an Audi/VW specialist would probably give a damn good guess immediately.

I've had experience of 2 x 138 bhp 2.0litre tdi engines, one in a 2007 VW Passat estate, the other in a2008 A6 saloon, both purchased new, the Passat had DSG gearbox, Audi the normal Auto, both were faultless until the got to 100,000km then gave injector and electrical problem requiring new injection harness, then at around 110,000km they both needed new flywheels, which is something I've never had to replace before.
A seriously bad local parts department meant they were off the road so we dumped Audi and VW, which was a shame because the little Skoda Fabias we had seemed to be bullet proof.
