Hi guys,
I need a bit of advice on the brackets holding the exhaust system in place. I had to have everything behind the cat replaced a month ago after it corroded through and fell off while travelling up the A1. Since then I've noticed a slight knocking sound when starting starting up, but tonight it became much worse and there was an obvious knocking when going over speed bumps and braking.
Turns out that the bracket holding the last section (the "out" pipe behind the last silencer, just in front of the back bumper) is very loose and probably about ready to fall off. How does this attach to the subframe and how easy is it to secure properly? Please bear in mind that I've got limited tools and experience and the only jacking option I have is the one for replacing the wheels.
Am I better of securing this with some wire until I can get it back to the garage or is there something simple I can do to to fix it properly?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
