It has been long since my last post. I started a (new) second business, so I didn't had time to spend with Stilo. I had a problem with the ABS unit, which while I was testing it, I crashed the car but not with major damages...

I have fixed the car (except the bumper), I bought new wheels (Tenzo Type M v1) and got a set of Toyo R888.

Now I need to test the new ABS unit but I will be waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer and then hit the road...

Oh man that sucks big time :( I'm glad it's nothing major. It just looks like you tried to see how it performs off road :p.

It's hard to keep all that power in one place, isn't it? :)

The accident did not happened due to extra power but due to damaged ABS unit. I slammed the brakes and the rear ones + the front right one blocked and the car started going sideways... The brakes were locked even when I took my foot from the brake pedal. We think that the problem was with the valves of the ABS unit. Now the unit has been changed.

I am also considering to replace the broken bumper with the one of the Merkur...

I mind publicly saying on the internet that I am in love with your car Nikos! :D

Looks nice that possible new front bumper and looking forward to seeing those Tenzos bolted to your Stilo (y)

Have you ever considered the Shumacher front bumper? I think that would look sweet on your car with some sort of front splitter :) Just my opinion mind you

Keep up the good work, always an enjoyable read, this thread :D

Hi Nikos

I tried to install front headlights to my Stilo Abarth, same type as yours, but is impossible. Main problem is heatsinks wall. Any advice please?

Did you make any modifications on fenders or bumper?

If I fail, I will try alfa romeo 159 headlights, whad do you think? :)

hats off to your work man (y)

Hi mate.

What kind of headlights have you tried to install?? I used aftermakret angel-eyes for Punto MK2 pre-facelift (1999-2003). These are the photos. I can't see any heat-sinks!...

In order to fit them, you need to remove the OEM headlight mounting points, and make new, custom ones, in order to fit on the Stilo mounts. Once you have placed the headlight in position, then you will see that there are gaps between the headlight and the fender/bonnet/bumper. This is where you need to make a custom part, in order to close the gaps. Look at the following photos, how this was made...

Let me know if you have any questions... (y)

Glad to see it isn't just me that has ideas like putting a v6 in. lol Im about to do it to a 1995 brava. I've had the 24valve for quite a while, was originally going to put it in a 75/milano but decided to put it in the brava. Still looking for a gearbox. Still unsure whether to use a 164 box or a latter 156 one. Then axles hubs, blah blah, lol. Hopefully i can steal some solutions from you providing of course the stilo and brava are similar.

You are right that it is a custom made bumper. The style might look like a Ferrari, but it was based on an aftermarket bumper for a SEAT Leon Mk1. LOL!! :)

Unfortunatelly, the guy that did this job, has changed profession! I would suggest you to find a good bodykit workshop and just throw the idea to them and see what is going to happen. I am sure that they will have their way to adapt the aftermarket bumper to Stilo's rear end... ;)

FOUND IT!! :)

Hmmm wonder why they called it the "Modena" rear bumper?? ;)

Does look far nicer modified to fit a Stilo though, will look into this for the future (y)

Since we are talking about a bumper made of fiberglass, there must be a lot of different tuners that produce that style. So try to find a descent one to put on your Stilo. For example, you can see in the photo bellow that this Leon has a far better bumper than the one you posted...

I designed a new handbrake caliper carrier. It will be manufactured in a few hours and I will fit it later this evening. Photos of it finished and fitted will be added tonight! Stay tuned! (y)
