I just had a code read done on my Fiat Panda Pop 1.2 Petrol. It came up with the following error code: PO62111 - Alternator Signal - Circuit short to ground. Any ideas please what this is and how to fix it?

From memory I had a similar code come up on a Fiat Doblo 1.6 relating to the charging and found it was caused by starting the engine and not driving off so idle speed was\ low and alternator was not working/charging.
I deleted the code and made a point of after starting the vehicle just "blipping" the accelerator which brings the alternator into action.
This cured the issue.
May be worth trying, this vehicle is still running over a year later on same alternator etc. and no error codes.

So what are you advising I do sorry. The code was cleared yesterday :) not sure if come back as of yet.

Basically just use the vehicle but do not leave idling after first start up, just drive away so engine revs increase. Assuming that is the cause then error code should stay off.
This is as long as you have no other charging issues causing flat battery etc.
What was the reason/need for reading the error codes in the first place?

Just slow acceleration, but think it could just be the car. My gear shift notification on the dash has stopped working fully and sometimes my car doesn't start and makes the occasional chirp noise on start up.

Not for the slow acceleration, but you could still have a charging issue/low voltage.
Was the battery and charging circuit tested?
Is yours a Start/Stop version as the wrong type of battery can cause problems?

It's not a start stop no, and only had a new battery fitted about 2 months ago.

So it may be worth having an Auto electrician check the charging side.
A simple test if you have a voltmeter is connect it across the battery terminals, it should read around 12.5 volts with engine off and if you have someone start the vehicle and with headlights on etc. I would expect a voltage of around 14.2 volts approx to indicate the alternator is covering the drain from the headlights etc. and charging the battery.
Some Fiat owners have experienced poor earthing etc. on battery and starter connections caused by corrosion, so may be worth checking that.

12.70 from start up.

And with all lights on wipers etc.

14.09.
