Just received my Abarth which was built in October.

Spec of the car seems to have changed (again!).

The major difference is the new instrument cluster - colour LCD has now gone and has been replaced with a pair of orange flourescent displays similar(ish) to other spec models.

BTW - also have working puddle lights.

Are you sure about this?did you check it?

Yes. I have just taken delivery of my 3 door Abarth and the spec. is the same, no colour display, no 12V socket but the puddle lights are there.

Any chance of some pics of the display?? It is a recognised modification on the FIAT Parts CD

Here's a picture of the lastest instrument cluster on the Abarth.

Sorry about the quality - you'll notice from the clock that it was dark, so I had to use a flash ;)

BTW - I also appear to have a version 9.8 of the SatNav+

How naff! (sorry lower specification owners). There's no way I'm swapping my car once the PCP runs out now.

The colour matrix display is wonderful. Ok, some of the information displayed on it is a waste of time (I think Fiat couldn't find anything to put on it) but it more than comes into its own when using the satnav. Rather than having to look across to the natsav display you can just glance down and see the next instruction and remaining distance. I think this is taking the cost cutting a little too far!

If you've had time to play with the radio/phone and satnav, what sort of things appear on the display? Is the colour display an option?

If I'm not wrong the "New" more conventional Abarth comes into the market not as Abarth but as GT. The major improvement in my opinion is that you can now get it with a manual gearbox, instead of the troublesome Salespeed.

The manual says that the colour multi-function display is for the models with radar cruise control only. Therefore I guess Fiat are about to offer this as an option?

Fiat have promised rada cruise for a long time but it never seems to quite happen. Maybe it will this time.

BTW - My now for sale and very good value Stilo comes complete with colour cluster LCD, puddle lights and boot 12v socket. ;)

Just out of curiousity, have they fixed the memory problems with the stereo on this newer model, or in the v9.8 software?

If you are playing a CD, then turn the ignition off then on again, does it carry on playing the CD where it left off, or does it go back to the last radio station you tuned in?

No offence, but I feel sorry for the new Abarth owners - being a Dynamic owner, I always aspired to the multi-coloured reconfigurable display, now I don't feel that hard done by, but I would if I'd just bought an Abarth!

It's comical, for me anyways, that the new Abarth spec is going towards the old Dynamic Spec - Abarth has Ercole (Dynamic's old fabric) and the Dynamic's display, albeit in white with an extra display (for the Selespeed I presume).

What will Fiat do next - take Alloy's off????? God help us all!

The 9.8 software still doesn't remember if you were playing a CD.

As for the colour LCD - I can live without it - it seems to be the only major thing as far as I can tell that has gone. All the functionality is still pretty much there except for the oil pressure/temperature function.
