Looking for some advice if poss.
Engine management light came on so took car 59 plate Doblo 1.9jtd to independent garage. Threw up fault on MAF which I had replaced. Drove home switched engine off and then restarted same. Engine management light came back on. Car is driving well, no change in performance or fuel consumption. Any ideas what it may be. Don't want to just replace parts for the sake of it.

Hi,:)

chances are they saw a fault code that CAN relate to a MAF ,

ask them the CODE , ( might be on the worksheet attached to the bill);)

or get it scanned now..

then use SEARCH on the forum to see what it's usually related to,

on your model : vehicle AND ENGINE,

go to another garage.. or do it yourself,

then once fixed return to the original garage, and get then to reimburse you for a "non-fix"

Cheers Charlie.
I was shown the code which related to the MAF so expected the replacement to do the job. Think I'll get an engine fault code reader and see what it throws up.
Don't do much hands on these days as I haven't the time so I have to rely on garages.
Not sure if it's connected but I replaced the battery in the key the day before the eobd light came on.

Garage had a look at it today, MAF is working as it should however engine light is still on. When checked it came up with 'undocumented fault'. Whatever that means.
Glow plug warning light has been flashing after start up so that may be my next port of call.
Car is running well with no issues coming up on the computer. Bloody annoying.

Hi,
"undocumented fault" indicates they are using a generic code reader. It should still give number probably starting with U. This would give us a clue.
Where are you located? There may be a member near you with the Fiat specific Multiecuscan software who could help I can if you are near Cambridge.

Thanks for the offer, just a bit too far from you unfortunately. I'm in North Ayrshire.
Looks like a trip to the Fiat dealer to pull up a code number. Local garage are using a SnapOn fault code reader, £7.5 k to buy apparently.

OK,
I'd have thought a Snap-on unit would at least have given a code number. Don't know about current models but you used to have to pay for the additional functions for each make of car.
Do a search on here for garage Ayrshire, there may be a recommendation for a local specialist.
