Hi all,

I have an EOBD error code on my 2007 Ducato 3.0litre. It is codePO638 (throttle actuator range/performance (bank 1) ).

Could anyone advise what action I need to take to resolve this issue. Is it an easy fix or is it a trip to the dealer.

Thanks in advance.
Steve

Hi Moodrator,

Thanks for the reply,

The garage said it was a short to earth issue which I have not dealt with as yet, vehicle is running fine!!!

Does this mean I need the modified wiring loom section, loom and actuator (support) or just actuator (support).

Do I need to buy items from a Fiat dealer

Thanks again

Steve

Ok Thanks,

I will have a look, is it the small section of wiring that plugs into the throttle body and then connects in to the loom I am checking. Am I checking for water ingress and can it be dried out and cleaned up,. I am away offshore tomorrow for 3 weeks so will check when I return home. I will post how I get on.
Cheers

Steve

How do you know you have the error code do you have a fault reader that fits the ducato if so what make and model is it as I have been looking for one for my ducato motorhome

Hi Cosworth101, mine is a basic sealey VS8800 reader bought out of my local car accessory shop and it works fine.

Interesting!!!!

I too wanted an OEBD reader and bought XXLTECH NX200. Its rubbish because it tells me that it found a fault code but when I ask it for the code it tells me no fault codes stored. Thats about as good as the little light on the dash.

Have you used the Sealey before or just on this occasion? Hope you get your problem sorted because from what I've read throttle body issues tend to be expensive.

Hi Guys,

Just an update on my sealey reader, I have used it on my wifes smart car and on my sons astra VXR as well as my camper. On all occassions it came up with the codes and reset them when fixed. With the camper I have not had time yet to investigate the issues further.

It is a 2007 3.0 litre 160hp van conversion camper. Does anyone know if the EGR can be blanked off on this engine or if it can be removed and cleaned out or is a new one the only option.
