If the work's done right and the head was skimmed flat, then I don't see why it wouldn't go on for a fair few miles yet (y)

Doubt it'll come to it, but you can get another lump from a breakers, it'd be worth keeping an eye on eBay and of course, on here :)

with a skim and new gasket + bolts, there shouldnt be any difference! With the head off, may as well get the timing belt changed too :)

My uno was driven for 2 years with a blown head and no oil pressure. Got it, fixed it, and it ran lovely - 250miles per week for 2 years!

If done right, it should be spot on.
You got any friends who could do the work for you and save a few quid?

Boasting or complaining? Now I seem to recall, having driven through bits of it last week, that Yorkshire is abloody big place. However, if you are near south York, there is a specialist Fiat breakers on the A1079 towards Hull. Its in a little village just a few miles south of the A64.

Can't remember the name of the village but they had plenty Cinq 899 engines when I was there last week.

Cheers

I don't think so, I know Simpsons, this is just a little place, like a roadside house with four or five garages and a garden full of broken Fiats.

How would I know that, there is nothing to say so in her profile, and I did say that Yorkshire is a bit on the huge size.

Definition of a Yorkshire man, Scotsman with the generosity removed.

come on D mate... she already been here 3 weeks.

that means apple has had enough time to pester her with PM's and got her home address, fone number, shoe size, and what her next door neighbour has for breakfast :D

Minxy: as has been said, it should be fine after a new gasket in.

as fixit said as well, it will save you a few hundred quid if u know someone handy with engines that can strip the head, get it skimmed, then replace the head gasket....
