Technical Engine starts and cuts out

Hi I'm a newbie I have a fiat ducato 2.3 jtd and its 2003 with the iveco engine my problem with it is it will start an run at high revs all day but if you take your foot off the accelarator it will cut out and if I go to start it straight away I can't hear the lift pump so far I've tried 3 lift pumps in it changed the pressure regulator changed the relays for it just to do the same I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on the situation as I'm at my wits end

Have you read the fault codes?

I've had it plug in to read what fault code but it doesn't come up with any

Had the van to my mechanic today he changed the fuel pressure regulator on the high pressure pump and it ran on its own for an hr and half after that it cut out I can drive the van at high revs but if I let it idle it just cuts out then I have to leave it for a few mins then it will start I've had it plugged in at two different garages and it doesn't come up with any fault codes

Does the 03 model have throttle valve check if it sticking closed

Throttle is fine no problems with any valves
