I am restoring a 1959 Fiat 500 jolly and need to have the engine rebuilt. I talked to a fellow some months ago that basically just rebuilds classic Fiat engines but have lost his name and number. Does anyone have a mechanic that they have used with success?

Welcome to the forum--in it you will find a great bunch of helpful people who between them have a wealth of experience. Where are you based? Was the person called Nathan Robertson?

I am in Florida. Unfortunately it was not Nathan Robertson. Thanks

zingercustoms has posted some very interesting threads about restoring 500 and 600 Jollys. He's located your side of the pond and may know the name of your engine rebuilder.

Try 'Mr Fiat' in Atlanta--I know that they are a fair distance from you, but through their contacts they may know who can help you. Basically though, the 500/126 engine is very simple, and if you have any experience of working on engines you will be able to cope. Any problems, the forum can help. It is still possible to get copies of the factory work-shop manual (much better than the 'after-market' versions).
Look on the site 'all 500 owners in USA, report in'---there are a number of 500 owners close to you.

I am sure that if you contact some of these gents (you can contact them direct through the Forum---go onto their name, and options for contact will appear) they will be glad to assist, and probably meet up.
