1. I have fiat panda with engine 188a4000 code, is it 1.1 or 1.2 ?

2. Secondly i refilled oil with 2.8 litres but the dip stick remains on half ( presumably its 1.2 motor ) the oil capacity as per manual it should be 2.8 litres ( but why 1.1 has more capacity of 3.5 litres )

I am confused if to put 2.8 litres or 3.5 litres, as per manual its 2.8 but dipstick remains at half !

188A4000 is the 1.2 (Euro 4) engine.

2.8 litres is correct for this engine. Should be fine as long as it is between Min and Max on the dipstick. Check again after running the engine and top up if necessary. Don't overfill.

I have both a 1.2 and 1.1

Never measured how much it takes.

But just buy 5 litres. There's never that much left over. Certainly isn't just under half left over????

And its about the same for the 1.2 or 1.1 ???

I would estimate just over a litre left over.

As above, 2.8 litres is right. Just changed oil and filter in a 1.2.

The 1.3 MJ takes around the same. It says 3 litres in the book, but I always have just under half a 5 litre can left. I suppose there must be 1-200 ml left in the filter and engine.

I normally fill it up to just over the half way point between min and max on dipstick, then check again once it's warmed up.
