Technical Engine Numbers?

Where can I find the engine number of my Tipo?

I want to Order a K&N Panel Filter and I have been given two options:

Tipo 1.6 (Carb) From Eng No. 7741340 88> £43.65 KN-33-2560
================================================
Tipo 1.6 (Carb) To Engine No. 7741339 88> £37.65 KN-33-2586


I have no numbers in me motor starting with '7'

The Metal Plate on the Front is written in Italian and the word which looks like Engine has a number next to it something like 160A?

My Tipo is a 1992.

Well 'Lets talk Fiat' Failed me and the Tipo section has been dead for a while. I would like the answer by the time I have to leave the house tomorrow morning.

I'm sure it should be in around the same place on all motors... or someone could simply tell me what it is meant to look like.

And why I have nothing starting with '7'

check your log book, or delivary note, or even your V5 should have it on!!!


ITs probably surrounded by other numbers though like:-
e.g. engine number is 99999999
trim level is 160A, paint code is 55B

.......160A 99999999999 55B

Why should your number start with 7?

It will be either this one: 0000001 TO 7741339

Or FROM 7741340 onwards surely - no idea what this number goes up to - how many they build?

That would have made more sense if they had written from 0000001 to 07741339

I want the "To engine number" as mine is 0466**** Cheers for the clarification.

i would hope they would be diff! yeah should be, look on the v5 will be very clear there

Not very clear on the K&N site there.. Should have used <> symbols.

I found it on the V5, starts with '8' but why is it not on the Engine? or am I looking in the wrong place?
