General Engine number located ?

just received a letter of the dvla saying a problem has risen with the records they hold for my car

they are asking for the VIN/Chassis/frame number which i have located as ZFA182000*******

theres also asking for the engine number had a look and cannot locate this at all


can someone give me a head up on exactly where it is located

Hope theese help but tbh I would find the No. of the DVLA not the number on the letter but get it off there website and ask them if they have sent a letter out to you regarding this problem. It seems a bit odd to me that they have had a record of the car since day one obviously and now they have found problems whith your chassis number a engine number and they need the numbers from you. That Information could be used to clone your car. Someone a bit dogey has only got to look at your car to get the reg and maybe your giving somebody everything they need to make an exact clone of your car. Probably being paranoid but your better off being safe than sorry.
If you have the 1.4 or 1.6 the codes are in the same place.

I would find that very very strange too. I would also give DVLA a buzz regarding it.

if you've had an undeclared engine change, the number to use is located in your logbook. use anything else and you're rumbled
