I guess some of the carby conversions leave little room at the top of the engine, so an extra 12mm may come in handy. I have just enough room at the top, but could do with a bit more where the exhaust exits under the rear transom.

The spacer looks like it goes where arrowed after replacing the studs with longer ones.

I guess if I ever need to put the panda headed, weber30DGF motor back in, that would be handy to possibly get enough room up top to fit some form of air cleaner. Good to know. THX.

My rear mount has a new spring but bottoms out under first gear acceleration of driving over a bump. It makes quite a thump as the rubber hits the rear transum. Is this normal for a 500 or should I look for a stronger spring.

My little motor bumped the chassis when starting so I fitted one of the lowering kits and problem solved.

I'm not sure about the bottoming problem that you have though. These little motors jump around a lot normally anyway.
