I always do a scan before I start anything "serious" and then again when I'm finished. Then if a fault code shows up when I'm finished I can be fairly sure it's likely to be something related to what i was working on - although not always, keep an open mind.I’m obsessed with MES I sometimes just fire it up to check all is well it’s definitely something that a 500 owner needs!!! Even if you have no interest in changing a part at least you can identify the issue and get it sorted faster!!
