Technical Engine issue out of nowhere, looking for advise

I went for a quick drive down the shops. Car started okay and all seemed fine. After about 2 to 3 minutes into the drive. The engine started to momentarily loose power, like every 3 secs it would power drop and the exhauster sounded muffled and chokey i guess.

The engine warning light and the stop / start light came on as well as the generic warning light.

I got to my destination, got the shopping. When i restarted the generic warning was on and the stop / start warning light were, but car appeared to run normally.

I've been thinking of getting an OBS scanner and this seems like a great time to get one.
Can anyone recommend any models. Cheaper the better

Hi thanks for the reccomendation. Is that an area where i can ask people if i can use / borrow their tech to find some answer from the ecu?

At first it was normal, no warning were on. But after the engine started coughing the warnings came up.
The was a message, something about the start / stop no longer active and some unavailable.

I;'ll have a quick google, saw someone mention it on this forum somewhere

yeah it was this message i think
"Start Stop is unavailable"
