My La Prima 600 is 4 months old and stuck in the dealers AGAIN.
After only 1600 miles it got stuck in Park showing "engine Fault", The RAC took it to Fiat Dealer and after 2 weeks they had to loan a "timing Tool" from Fiat.
That went well until last week with 2800 miles it got stuck in park AGAIN saying "GEARBOX FAULT" once again the RAC took to main dealer.
Today the fiat dealer telephoned me saying they have put a gear box software update on it saying "we hope that cures it" ???????
Watch this space, I have requested a new car several times to Fiat but every time they say we will repair it but i never spent £23 thousand to be off the road for weeks on end.

Hi,I am also am having an issue very similar with my New 600 hybrid LaPrima. recalled this week for fluid pipe clip …this was sorted ..however when starting the car at dealership I noticed the break pedal was very stiff and difficult to press ( it was ok before recall) ..drove off to petrol station filled up ..car would not restart .it was locked in park mode..nightmare in everyone’s way but couldn’t move it …eventually another driver told me to lock car leave it a few minutes try again ..it worked! Phoned dealership service up to be told …if they found a fault they would sort it but if no fault it would be to my Cost for diagnostics and time 😳 six weeks old 1200 miles ….very dissatisfied with response! This is my eighth Brand new Fiat ..not a happy bunny …any thoughts on this please.

Sorry to hear about the problem. I can’t help technically. But what awful service from the dealer. A problem appears after they work on your car and they want to charge you for a diagnostic test!

Had my car back yesterday from main dealer, they assured me it was now fixed AGAIN, They added an update to the electrics they say, while it was there they completed the re-call although they did not say what it was only that they had ordered parts on back order? as there was a second re-call issued.
I will update as nessesary.

that was exactly what they told me, however the last time it got stuck in park i took a picture of the "Engine Fault" on the dash. I fully understand your problem and can assure you it will happen again, i too left it half hour and it cleared but got stuck in park again and so frustrating as you are stuck. The RAC did tell me if your far from home and this problem happens the car will go into LIMP made and it crawls like a snail so if I was you I would sit in your car with camera at the ready, Stop start your car lots of times putting into Drive and park turn off and on lots of times and feel sure the fault will show again.
When I was looking to test drive a Fiat 600 before I got mine the main dealer in Walsall [West Midlands] bought a new car to me to view but said it had an issue stuck in park so I could nit test drive that one so looking back FIAT DO KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING., Regards Dave

Hi I collected my brand new Fiat 600 La Prima on 1st October. On the 7th October it locked in reverse and came up with gearbox error. RAC took it back to dealer where it still is. Customer service has been appalling. Car is a week old with 200 miles on the clock…. Very unhappy!!!

Speak to trading standards NOW! ask for a replacement car if yours is not rectified in 14 days. That will make them all sit up straight. The law is on your side.

My brand new La Prima was brought back to me today having got stuck in reverse less than a week old, and showing gearbox error. Took it for a test drive and the same fault showed when I reversed around a corner, stopped and tried to select drive. The car has been reloaded onto the recovery vehicle and taken straight back to the dealership. I bought it on the 1st October, it has been back with the dealership since the 8th. This isn't great is it?

Same thing happened to us at 400 miles Selector buttons not lighting up couldn't select gear. Recovered in software updates days of testing and the car returned. All good for 2.5days and the same thing happened again. Emailed finance co and suppling dealer on the Friday. Picked up brand new 600 on the Monday. Arnold Clark swapped the car now problem. Great support from them.

That is as it should be. Send the other one back to wherever it was made. I was advisedcto reject my Panda as it was advertised, ordered built and sold as 90 hp which it isnt. I was told the law was 100% in my favour. I decided to accept a deal as it wasnt faulty just wrongly sold! Trading standards seemed to see such a large purchase going wrong as important. i have once had a new car replaced. If you put your foot down in the right way, decisively a fair dealer will recognize its time to deliver. Hats off to the ones that do the right thing. Not an easy decision but probably a good way to do business, getting recomendations rather than customers throwing out warnings. I was interested in the 600 but there are too many stories of faults and I have lost faith in them, and indeed EVs in general. Dealers MUST be ableto fix the products they sell. If mainstream dealers are not able, and replacing a whole car instead, just imagine what BYD AND Jaecoo backup might resemble..... I so want to be convinced but while I havn't been stranded by an ice vehicle, a non starting Ev would stop me in my tracks. Dont accept this its not as described, its unusable and its not fit for purpose. 1 chance to fix it then its a replacement. Any spec shortfall means compebsation. Any arguments means I ask for all associated reasonable justified costs back too. Its one of thosebthings but they must give you what you paid for. Personally I would want all my money and costs back!
