I was on the way home from work this evening and as I was coming up behind stopped traffic I was slowing down when my engine just died. It restarted the second time but now I have the orange warning light on which I think is the engine warning light.
The car is still running smooth and ticks over well and there's no obvious problem, just the warning light. The car was only serviced a few weeks ago.

Anyone and ideas what the problem is (1.2 Bravo) ? I have a 150 mile journey to do Saturday, should I be safe to still do it ?

What does the light look like? The injection light is red, the CODE light is orange though.

Yeah, telling us which light it is would definitely help!

Re: Re: Re: Engine died and now I have the orange warning light on

I thought there was only 1 orange warning light.
Anyway, it's not the injection light and I'm almost sure it's not the code light either, it's shaped like an engine is the best I can descibe it.
It's gone off now anyway but I'd still like suggestions on what the problem was.

Puzzled.

Never seen this light before.

It's the diagnostic light. On later Fiats they don't use the fuel injector shaped light, it's now a warning light that glows orange and is shaped like an engine. Take it your local "dealer" and get them to see whats wrong with it.

Jeff have you done any mods to your car?

If, as Paul said, that orange light has replaced the fuel injection indicator on the later models, than I wouldnt worry much about it...although I would still have it checked. Most probably the ECU has gone into safe (emergency) mode because some external influence has caused the fuel to air mixture ratio to change.

I had the some warning light coming on after a few months of buying my bravo from new...it would light up a couple of minutes then it would vanish.
