I have a low mileage (18000) 1242 sitting ready for the Cinq complete with gearbox and all ancillaries. Looking at the Punto handbook there are two versions of the Punto 60 gearbox/final drive. One has a fith gear with a ratio of 0.902 the other is 0.808. Final drive in both is 3.563.

A Cinq box has a fifth gear of 0.829 with a final drive of 3.867. If my math is correct the overall ratio of the 0.902 is actually marginally shorter than the Cinq one, the 0.808 is longer.

Anyone know how to tell how to identify them? I have the body codes in the handbook, the chassis number of thhe car the engine box came out of, but no body code.

Regards

Pete
