Shame, I got to let go of my dream of an almost-alternative Uno Turbo project.
Still doing ongoing project https://www.fiatforum.com/punto/328181-1368-mk-1-punto-elx85-3.html?p=3310167 to fit a 1368 lump under orginal mk1 ELX top end and all ancillaries, ECU left standard, on my mk1 Punto Cabrio. After a false start, we got second attempt going yesterday, using a 1368 Punto Grande bottom end, without problem. Hey, does it go, up the lane and back, not beyond 2nd gear. Really eager at once, but at 5000rpm it just takes off! More so that what I remember of the standard 1242, but admittedly that was a 135k unit.
So that had been the plan, same 1368/mk1 ELX hybrid into my mk1 Uno SX70, guess 95bhp with standard ELX ECU, easily more with ECU uprate. I have the Uno mk2 bits to fit the FIRE engine/box. OK it wouldn't have the special UT bits, equal-length driveshafts, twin rotor discs etc but all that could be worked on. Mk1 Lancia Monte Carlo 6x13 plain-disc wheels would be nice, more SX-like than typical UT choices.
Unfortunately, the Uno's got to go, as Classifieds here and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-ORIGINAL-88-Fiat-Uno-mk1-70SX-68-808mi-Restoration-or-Turbo-shell-donor-/332147418531?hash=item4d558765a3:g:NzAAAOSwWxNYvuj Q
also my 124AC COUPE ditto
