Hello all
Has anyone ever succsefuly managed to empty an injection panda tank before?
Haynes helpfuly says 'siphon the petrol out with a straw or a hand pump' but...
There seems to be some kind of ant-siphon gizmo blocking the pipe from the filler cap (I have tried to force all manner of pipe down there) and you can't suck anything through the injector end because of the fuel pump.

I have been able to drain a thimbles worth at a time using the pump test squirt at ignition switch-on but FIAT can't really be that sadistic.

Can they?

Jack up and remove back wheel. Prize loose platic u-clamp holding filler tube to chassis. Undo clamp holding tube to tank, pull tube alway from tank, instert drain hose/pump to tank. :)

Remove cap, then prise off the outer ring. Some of its lugs will most lickly snap so you may want to order a new one:eek:, chances are you can reuse it but it may not sit flat. Grab the tube from under the wing and it should pull out with a bit of a wiggle.
Fred should have no problem (y)

Let me know if you damage the outer ring. I've think the one I took off of the donor 750L is ok and you can have.

Jon.

Thanks all

There was only one rusty jubille clip (that surrendered after a tussel with a screwdriver) pipe came away nice and easily and the petrol followed.
It was easier with all four wheels on the ground (as you have to tug at the pipe) and I left that u clamp alone as well, it looked a bit snapy.

cheers
:D
