Hi,

To anyone that has the knowledge this should be clear cut..
In theory anyhow, Car had eml up to 4k when it would go off everytime.
Now with the p0235 code I cleaned the map sensor..

Now I have p0235 and p0236 and eml that goes off at blip of throttle.

replaced boost solenoid as it kept getting wet.

egr is blanked

Map sensor ordered will have to wait delivery... I think this has to be it.

Car is punto jtd 2002 elx

No smoke idles fine, boost was none existent in the beginning, but car is of road at mo all tests done in situ.

Cleared codes results in same 2 codes instantly.

HELP IF YOU CAN PLEASE.

Hi,

varescrazy..
Thanks for your reply, It does seem to take a while to get up to temp but it does get there in the end.. I dont think the thermostat is stuck open but cant be sure, The lower fan speed doesnt kick in or actuate, but the higher can be actuated.

Live data I'm not sure why but I think possibly computer isn't up to it crashes..

I can read codes etc and use actuators succesfully, processor is ony 1.6 atom its just a little netbook running windows 7.

Cleaned map yesterday and today I notice as the car gets hotter the point at which the eml goes of is higher in the rev range.
Codes will both come up straight away regardless after clearing.
unplugging maf will throw p0110 p0101also which makes sense I think.

The map sensor is ordered but from bosch direct apparently so couple of weeks, wanting to get it back on the road soon but not till its gremlins are gone.
p0235 is a high reading
p0236 is invalid

Not sure why but its also throwing up p0404 now (invalid signal)
which it didn't before, The egr is blanked and has been all the time.
cheers for your time.(y)

Right I've littered the sight a bit with same problem in different sections.. Thanks to anyone that helped.. The fault was map sensor replaced eml had to be reset but all good.

does it warm up better now too..??
I'm not to sure you know..

She's of the road at the mo getting sorted for mot, wasnt taking it like that, still gearbox to go but friends doing it.

Would the map sensor be responsible for this though I know its the brain in terms of fuel and air.. I mean it does warm up but wouldnt say its that quick about it, egr is blanked and pcv is to atmosphere.. Map should be happy in there now.
A note I did make the fan only works at full speed.. Actuated in fes this is only mode that works.
I shouldnt think that it should have a bearing on the warm up.. its remapped though wonder if that's anything to do with it.. for all i know it could of had the resistor mod to make it read cooler.. it has been messed with before I got it.

Cheers for the interest learning alot might start trying to help out lol.

I wasn't expecting it to warm-up quicker..,
just wondering.. ( probably just a diesel thing..)

AFAIK - the fan will only run at 1 speed unless it's cooling aircon..:)

That's good to know one less thing to think about.. More learned.yeah I mean my old golf TDI wasn't quick to warm up. Chuffed though was checking wiring with multimeter as fitting the map didn't sort it but not realising ya have to reset the codes to get eml out.
