To finish this post off, I do not suggest to buy this ELM:

The LED are facing at the bottom of the gearbox compartment and not visible, the software is crap, the bluetooth software dates 2007 and I did not get it working with any Android.

The following seems to be the best ELM interface:

:worship:

Thanks for letting us know -- although I'm sorry your product testing was so frustrating.

Although I love my BlueDriver (referenced in my first post), I know that it's expensive... -- although they are constantly adding new features all the time... -- and it's maybe, therefore, not for most people. (I had a play with the live monitoring, the other day -- and it's getting better with each iteration. Once it's more European-focused, then, perhaps, it will make more sense as a package....)

Have you bought/are you buying that second interface? It looks extremely good value, when combined with MES or Torque.... Again, though, a set of cables seems to be the only option for reading airbag codes, etc..

Crying and swearing!

The second ELM (OBD) Interface did not work either!!

I bought the paid version of Torque App too for my smartphone and I can't have it working. The bluetooth adaptaer is correctly paired, the Android apps (about 8 different software) finds the HHOBD adapter, but then there is failure to connect and acquire data from the ECU. Torque OBD, for example, gives me a steady light for teh adaptor icon (=connect via BT) but a flashing car icone (= no ECU connection).

I am very sad because the applications look very nice and useful, but I can't get it working. I am clinging to the hope that it is some sort of setting. Anyone wit ha similar experience?

:-( :-( :-(

Oh gosh, this is something i can do!!! I will report it. I may also try and extend the led and make a power on/ off switch out of the fuse casing. Thank you very very much - big pincher of ale to you

Damn it: my resistors are 100Ohms as should be... however I realized that post is 117pages! I have to dig my answer very hard!

I found mine had the correct value resistor but instead of being connected to ground two of the pins where commoned together with the resistor allowing the output to float so I simply removed the resistor and all was well

Here is my Interface. I am a bit skeptical to remove the risistors and will eave that as a last resort

Puzzled! I've tried alfaobd and it connected to ecu and worked well. So is the problem in the apps, and all the ones downloaded incl. Torque obd.. I would like to know which other apps maybe compatible with my interface since alfaobd is not free. I want an android app
