Technical Electrical problems, I need help

Hi all,
I have a 06 punto mk2b, she is 1.2 8v, since yesterday I have been having electrical problems, at first I thought it was the battery as she wouldn't start and had no electrical power so I got a replacement as it was still under warranty, she ran fine, today I come out and she has power but when I turn the key all my dash lights go off and the clock resets, then suddenly she starts, no random clicking noises just what seems to be a power drain then the a second or so later the starter turns,
Any ideas? This is driving me nuts now.

Could be battery negative leads/s

As in the actual connection to the battery or do you mean the earth in general?

Hi

The main black cable can breakdown internally.. disturbing it to swap the battery might have helped..

Add a jumplead cable following its path

Battery to gearbox..then battery to engine

Any improvement?

The negative lead that attaches to the battery and body and engine. They break down over time , often look fine but corroded to bits under insulation.

Well I found the problem and it was the earth wire connected to the battery, its fixed now so thanks for the help
