Technical electrical problem

hi, i am looking for some help with my multipla, i bought the car a week ago and on inspection i have no interior lights and the rear sunroof and rear windows do not work i have checked all the fuses with no luck does anybody have any ideas?
i did read that someone fixed the problem by disconnecting the battery would this work? and would it cause anything to need resetting?

Disconnecting the battery for 30 Mins, then reconnecting sometimes works, just make sure you have your radio code card handy when you reconnect, if you have not got one, then get one if you have a OEM CD stereo.

If no interior lights, have you checked the bulbs, by prizing off the lens with a small flat head screwdriver ? Also check the door switches / contacts are not stuck, as these should freely move when you press them.

Rear sunroof, can be a few things. Do you hear a click when the switch is pressed? Have you attempted to open the sunrooof manually ? Is the outside channel fully of sillicon from a bodge repair? is all checked and ok, then check imepedance of the drive motor and check the switch that there is a 12v input supply and output to the motor when switch is pressed.
