Heres a guide how to clean it, its a Stilo 150 but its practically the same. https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/156040-1-9-multijet-150-egr-valve-removal-cleaning.html maybe you could do a guide for the Marea if you decide to clean it. Initially I had no dash warnings but eventually it did throw up an engine management light.
