I'm finding conflicting answers to this question:

Does my 1998 Marea Weekend 1.6 petrol have an EGR valve? (Some say it's only on diesels). If so, can someone describe for me where it is located? I'd like to try cleaning it (if that is in fact the poor acceleration and poor MPG culprit!)

Hmm, older bravo/brava engines are the same too aren't they?

This interest me, if it does have an EGR valve, then i 100% believe it'l need cleaning!

Here are two guides, hopefully theres a chance there is an EGR on the petrol engine too!

Let me know if you find it!

Cheers,
Migs.

Update:Apparently some older petrol cars do have an EGR valve, its mainly used on petrol during idling, but they were quite common on vauxhalls, so hopefully the maria will have one. When coaked up, they make cars run poorly, kangaroo-ey and poor idling, it takes used gasses and runs them through the inlet system again to make it more eco, it can be removed i recon, some extra performance apparently.
