Just looking for some advice, I brought the blanking plate awhile ago for the egr but never got around to installing it but I have since had a garage do a dpf egr and fap fluid basically everything involved in that pain in the ass area delete (she runs lovely, no smoke on load or start up and awesome power on acceleration) , what I am wondering is, is the egr still allowing exhaust gas back into the system or does it have a valve that opens and closes that will no longer open because of the delete or do I need to install the blanking plate so it shuts it of completely, just to put my mind at ease

What I have found in the past is that older pre DPF vehicles can often get away with having the EGR blanking plate fitted , but newer stuff doesn't like it , so would need the expense of an ECU reprogramming to do the job.
If vehicle is running happily I would leave it alone, however if most of your driving is short stop/start around town then I would use some DPF cleaner additive in the fuel on a fairly regular basis and probably around once a month give it a good long blast up the motorway to allow engine to do a Regen and clear the cobwebs out.;)

Thank you for the reply. I have had the ECU remap just wandering if now installing the blanking plate would help it breath or has the egr got a type of butterfly valve that is now permanently closed. It’s a 2013 2.0L 130multijet

The people who did the remap would be best to ask, I suspect it is permanently closed otherwise it would defeat the object by still allowing exhaust muck to get back into the inlet manifold.
