EGR cleaned. now i have power problems.
hi guys,
I've got an '06 gps 1.9 multijet.
Recently read the thread on cleaning the egr, and about a week later, started noticing the low down sluggishness of the car.
So armed with the walthrough guide and all the bits and pieces, i took the egr off and cleaned it. God, thats thing was full of crud! All went to plan, but no increase in power once i refitted it.
Went to see my mechanic, a local garage that does servicing etc, and he recommended a little drive to see if the ecu needed to adapt to the egr now being clean etc. He has done a few egr cleans on vauxhall and fiats, hence going to see him.
Well, now the car has very little power down low, and if the accelerator is pushed fully down, you get very little response. The car wont go above 3k rpm, and i've noticed it smoking now too, which it never did.
anybody got any ideas, or is this a 'take it to fiat job'?
thanks for the help.
Paul
