Technical EGR Blanking Plate Position Help.

I've blanked off my egr valve as I have been having some issues. I got it from eBay and the guy had diagrams of where to block it but I saw on here a picture of different places to block it.

I was just wondering if where i have blocked it is ok?

The picture is taken from another thread showing the two places to block it (in red) and I have blocked it at the bit I have circled in blue.

Is it ok to block it here?

Any help would be great.

Its a 1.9 diesel multijet 120.

I cant see it being a problem being blocked there. Only thing I will say is you will need to get it deleted from the ECU otherwise you'll start getting errors.

Yeah ended up with an engine warning light on. I have removed the plate as im needing to take it into a garage (long story!). Will it reset it self now the plate has been removed?

i think it does clear but not 100% sure.
