well its a good scrappy they give refunds if they dont work, but i was just wondering if it was worth the fuel to go and get it cos i had no money on me :)

That's ok if they give refund then. Do you need one? If so I'd give it a try. They must be fairly water proof to stop the damp on a winters evening if the car hasn't been used, and to stop splash back from puddles. I've never understood why they've put them under the bonnet, It's inside the car on my Panda which I think is much better for the damp and waterproofness reason.

If you do get the scrapyard one, i'd open it and give it a few days to dry out in the house before using it incase moisture has gotten in. If it has, chances are it wont do any damage until power is applied to it while there is still moisture on the PCB. If power does get to it while moisture is present, you get electrolytic corrosion and shorting (n)
