ECU reading software

Hi, I have a 1998 Mk1 Punto 60S 1.2 8v and I'm after some ecu reading software as I keep getting the fuel injector (or general fault) light coming on on my dash. Does anyone know of some software that will read the code, also which type of cable I will require?

Any help much appreciated.

You may need an adaptor to convert from EOBD 16 Pin to Fiat 3 pin diagnostic if your car does not have 16 pin EOBD sockets.

No you are wrong, that software only works for OBD2 cars and with a mk1 punto is a OBD1.

Thanks for the replies.

You say that the Mk1 is OBD1, but in the thread above he says use an OBD2 cable with adapter, will the OBD2 cable (with adapter) work with the mk1?

You sure? Fiat Coupe is pre OBD2, as are other cars and they are supported (website down at present so can't check list of supported cars).

FiatECUScan does not yet support all current OBD2 cars either.

I would not rule support based on OBDI or OBDII status.

I had the injector warning light come on in my cinquecento, it turned out to be a loose connection on the ECU..
