General ebay bidding,

Where's the fun in that, best bit of ebay is putting in those last second bids manually :)
If it becomes impossible to win items this way it will be ebays loss imo:(

well said, that is my gripe with the bidding,
jon, sniping tool is a download, not on ebay, heard mike brewer on wheeler-dealers say he uses it, sneaky! hope it chokes whoever won the fiat part i was keen to have.

It failed on me once so if I'm around I manually bid with a few seconds to go. It is useful if you're away - assuming it actually logs in :(

An auto bid can't beat you if yours is the highest bid. The moral is to bid the most you're prepared to pay - if you still lose someone wanted it more than you (or possibly had more money than sense!). (y)

Still don't understand your original posting though Stiggy - why pay a higher price?

Oh yes - and what part was it?
